One of the purposes of the SCSU is to advocate on behalf of our members (the students) for better services at Selkirk College, higher quality and improved access to post-secondary education, increased awareness on social and human rights issues, and better government policies of all issues of importance to students.
We advocate for these things through campaigns, which are intended to raise public awareness of certain issues, and to pressure the decision makers to make change. Often these are campaigns of the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS), where the union is working on an issue along with students from across BC and Canada. If you have an idea for a campaign we should work on, or if you would like to volunteer, then drop by the office.
