Jennifer Alejo
Hi Everyone! My name is Jennifer Alejo and I am a first year student (currently on my 2nd semester) in
the UAS program. I am thrilled to be running and be part of this exciting journey as a Student Union.
As an international student from the Philippines, I know the challenges of adjusting in a new
environment and trying to fit in. And I want to use this to help create events that are fun and creative
which can help not only International students but also Canadian students to be connected during their
stay in the college.
Being a part of Student Union is not just about experience, but also making sure that students’ voice or opinions are being heard and valued. I will make sure to create a positive environment to your everyday school life.
I look forward to the opportunity to serve, support, and stand beside you.

Natecia Dinnall
Hi! My name is Natecia Dinnall (pronouns: she/her). I am a first-year student in the RPM
program, and this is my first time applying for a position in the Student Union.
I am running for a position on the Selkirk College Students' Union because I do not see much representation of students from minority groups, and I hope to change that. This is also
an opportunity for me to become more involved with the Selkirk community as a whole,
while being a voice that contributes to the improvement of the college itself and its
student body.
I have developed strong leadership skills through my time as a school prefect, and
discipline through extracurriculars such as dancing and track and field.
Along with being on the Student Council, I am passionate about volunteering, playing
team sports, and strongly promoting inclusivity. As a member of the Selkirk College
Students' Union, I am eager to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the
table.
When I started in my program, I had to shift how I communicated and interacted with
those around me. I hope to assist others who may need a little push to do the same. My
goal is to enhance communication between students and the administration, and I am
committed to organizing more engaging, school-wide events and advocating for greater
student participation in extracurricular activities. I aim to elevate student voices while
simultaneously effecting positive change on campus. One of my priorities will be to
create more activities geared towards encouraging minority groups’
involvement.
I look forward to listening and learning what it takes to make Selkirk a memorable
experience for every student.

I have volunteered at various college events, including Get Connected and worked as a student marketing and communication assistant as a part of my work-study at the college. My intension is plain and simple , I know I can't resolve everything, but I am here to listen and work towards the end goals simultaneously. I aim for more open communication hence I am available via DM, around the campus for feedback or just to chat as I believe success comes with accessibility. Also, establishing a survey/feedback culture for the council on regular intervals. Flagging the path for Open to read books, instead of relying only on paid textbooks. Please cast your vote in-between September 29-October 2 this year.
